“At a Glance”

Since  joining TCA in 2010, Coach Dan Gwitt has quickly become know as one of the top Prep Coaches in the Nation.  In his short tenure, Dan has helped guide several teams to appearances at the Junior Olympic National Championships and also help guide several of the Nations top Prep Players to Collegiate Scholarships.

Prior to his time at TCA, Gwitt was the Head Coach for The Centenary College Ladies Volleyball Team, a Division 1 member of the Summit League.   Gwitt took over as the Interim Head Coach in 2007 and at the time Gwitt was regarded as the youngest Division 1 Head Coach in the Country.  Dan spent 3 seasons as the Ladies Head Coach and by the age of 24 had coached over 70+ Division 1 matches. Upon the decision of the school to reclassify Divisions, Gwitt choose to head west and join the TCA staff.


Throughout his time at Centenary, Gwitt has been featured in Volleyball magazine including the 2008 article “Getting His Chance Instantly”.  Also Gwitt has worked with some of the nation’s top programs including Texas and Nebraska.

A native of Eden, NY, Gwitt graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2007 with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Arts and Sciences.  As a student-athlete on the Men’s Varsity Volleyball team, Gwitt helped the Nittany Lions to the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Championship and advanced to the NCAA Final Four.

Getting his start with Eden High School, Gwitt was guided by former Penn State All-American Robert Pierce.  Together they went on to win back-to-back state championships and finished a club best at the Junior Olympics Gwitt’s senior year of High School.
